The medical term for bad breath is "Halitosis". it can be caused by poor dental health habits which can worsen by the type of food one eats. it can also be caused by not brushing your teeth daily and letting food particles remain and decay in your mouth which can promote bacterial in your teeth, tongue and gum.
unhealthy lifestyles like smoking or chewing tobacco can can cause bad breath, stain teeth and irritate your gum. yeast infection of the mouth and improper fitting dental appliances can also be the cause. saliva is necessary to moisten the mouth and wash away dead cells on the cheek, tongue and gum to avoid dry mouth (xerostomia) which can cause bad breath. some other diseases include respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia, chronic sinus infection, diabetes, liver or kidney problem and postnasal drip.
