How to remove dark underarms

Dark underarms can be thought of as the skin's response to esposure to certain elements. The dark coloration is usually not a disease or medical condition.

Some of the causes include: poor ventilation of the underarms, shaving, use of alcohol-based deodorants and antiperspirants, constant use of hair removing cream, accumulation of dead skin cells, excessive sweating.

Note: sometimes dark underarms may be caused by a medical condition that is known as acanthosis nigricans, which is associated with insulin resustance, cancer, hormonal disorders, obesity and some certain medications. If your dark underarms are caused by this condition then you must consult a doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment. 

BELOW ARE SOME SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES FOR DARK UNDERARMS:

Milk

Milk can help to remove dark underarm due to the presence of vitamins and fatty acids.

  1. Mix two tablespoons of full fat milk, one to two tablespoons of flour and one teaspoon of pain yogurt to make a thick paste.
  2. Apply it on your underarms and leave it on for about 15 minutes before wash it off with cold water.
  3. Repeat a few times a week on a regular basis.

Cucumber

Cucumbers also have natural bleaching properties to help lighten discolored skin just like potatoes.

  1. Simply rub a thin cucumber slice on your underarms or grate a cucumber and apply the juice under your arms.
  2. Do this once or twice daily until you are satisfied with the results.

Baking Soda

Baking soda can help to remove dead skin cells, which is one of the main causes of dark underarms.

  1. Mix baking soda and water to make a thick paste.
  2. Use this paste to scrub your underarms.
  3. Wash it off and pat dry the area thoroughly.
  4. Repeat a few times a week.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil  contains vitamin E that can help lighten the underarms. It is a good option to get rid of underarms.

  1. Massage the dark underarms with coconut oil.
  2. Leave it on for some minutes.
  3. Wash it off with mild soap and lukewarm water.
  4. Repeat two or three times daily until you achieve the desired results.

Lemon

Lemon is used in the treatment of various skin related problems including dark underarms. It works as a natural bleach and a good antibacterial and antiseptic agent.

Note: it can dry out your skin,  so make sure you apply a moisturizer after using this remedy.

  1. Rub a lemon wedge on the skin for a few minutes.
  2. Leave the juice on your skin for some minutes and then wash the area thoroughly.
  3. You can also sprinkle a little sugar on the lemon wedge and then use it.
  4. Do this a few times a week.

Potato

Potato have a mild acidic property that is a great natural bleaching agent.

  1. Rub a thin slice of potato on your underarms.
  2. Allow it to dry for 15 to 20 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water.

Orange Peel

Orange peels  have a skin lightening properties. It can be used to lighten the skin under your arms.

  1. Put some orange peels in the sun for a few days until they dry out completely.
  2. Grind the dried peels into powder form.
  3. Mix two teaspoons of powdered orange peels with enough rose water and milk to make a thick paste.
  4. Gently scrub your underarms with the paste and then leave it on for some minutes.
  5. Wash the area with cold water.
  6. Repeat the process two or three times a week.
